This session examined the future of United States insurance regulation under the Trump Administration and in the wake of Britain’s vote to leave the European Union. We examined the history of the United States system of insurance regulations together with its strengths and weaknesses. In addition, we enumerated the changes to our state-based system after the 2008 financial crisis and the success of the European Union’s uniformity push through the Solvency I and II Directives.
