Louisiana State Bar Association CLE: "Technology, Media and Intellectual Property: The Law, The Practice, The Market," panelist: Joseph Looney on "How and Why You Should Register Trademarks and Patents for Your Clients"; "So, Is Media, Sports and Trademark Work Fun and Profitable?"; and "Are Ethics Trickier in Technology, Media and Intellectual Property? (ETHICS)"; New Orleans Marriott Hotel, register at www.lsba.org
This seminar will guide you from the will and vision to create economic development to whom it inspires and what projects are created. How those inspired develop their research and create intellectual property. Learn how that IP is, through technology transfers, licensed so it can be monetized. And finally, how people then sometimes must litigate on this IP in the real world. The focus will also be on advising and providing service to local clients who are, or employ, inventors, software designers, licensing entities, users of new media and others who will need attorneys to start up, contract, protect their technology, content, inventions and intellectual property, and litigate. The program will also address challenges businesses face as concepts of privacy are changing. There will be an update on the “Hollywood South” movie industry and a discussion of using new market tax credits for the “Broadway South” theatre expansion and other prospects.
