Adams and Reese Partner Linda Edell Howard has been named among Nashville Business Journal’s 2016 Women in Music City Award winners. The award honors women working in the music business who are making a creative and economic impact on the industry. Edell Howard will be honored alongside 29 fellow 2016 award winners at a red-carpet dinner Sept. 27th at the Omni Nashville Hotel. The 2016 awards event will also recognize Reba McEntire, NBJ’s 2016 Artist of the Year, and NBJ 2016 Breakout Artist, Jana Kramer.

NBJ’s 2016 Women in Music City Award winners were selected through an independent nomination process and evaluations by NBJ editors and a judging committee consisting of women music professionals from across the country. Edell Howard and other Women in Music City winners will also be profiled in a special upcoming section of Nashville Business Journal.

At Adams and Reese, Edell Howard is a partner in the firm’s Nashville Music Row office and serves as the firm’s Entertainment and New Media Team Leader. She has almost 30 years of experience in the areas of entertainment, new media and technology along with domestic and international intellectual property law. Her transaction-based practice focuses on entertainment and new technology contracts, practices and procedures, new platform strategies, social network business transactions, advocacy for creators, and protection for copyright and other rights holders.

Edell Howard joined Adams and Reese in 2001, helping catapult the Nashville Music Row office into one of the most well-respected and experienced full-service entertainment firms in the country. Clients include numerous Grammy- and other award-winning songwriters and artists, the estates of deceased legendary celebrities, key industry executives, music publishers, personal managers, producers, authors, world-renowned churches and ministries, cutting-edge digital music companies, and related industry players including merchandisers, banks and unions.

Edell Howard is a 2016 Best Lawyers® “Lawyer of the Year” in Nashville in Entertainment Law – Music and has been named to The Best Lawyers in America® (by BL Rankings, LLC) in Entertainment Law and Intellectual Property Law since 2006. She has also been recognized in Mid-South Super Lawyers® (by Thomson Reuters) in Entertainment and Sports Law since 2006. Edell Howard is also listed as a leader in Tennessee Media and Entertainment Law in Chambers USA. She is a frequent speaker on various intellectual property topics and has often informed the creative community about new legislation and trends in the marketplace at music industry forums.

This year marks the second time Edell Howard has been selected as an NBJ Women in Music City honoree. She was also honored in 2014 during the inaugural awards year.
