Adams and Reese public finance attorney David Wolf, who serves as special counsel in the law firm’s New Orleans office, was selected to the 2013 class of “Money Makers” by CityBusiness, honoring 50 financial professionals whose fiscal work, accomplishments and achievements have not only set the pace for their company, but the region as a whole.
Wolf was selected in the “Professional” category and one of a select few attorneys honored in a predominantly financial services industry special insert.
Honorees will be recognized at a noon Sept. 26 luncheon at the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans and in profiles published in the Oct. 4 issue of CityBusiness.
At Adams and Reese, Wolf is a member of the Public Finance and Banking and Finance teams and focuses his work on creating and growing the regional public finance practice of the firm. He has acted as bond counsel for numerous state and local government agencies and entities in Louisiana, and represents parishes, municipalities, school boards, industrial development boards, port commissions and special service districts.
Wolf advises and assists clients in structuring, developing and implementing capital improvement and cash flow management programs using various types of debt instruments. He also advises local governments, non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations and for-profit businesses with respect to taxable and tax-exempt financing alternatives available under federal, state and local laws.
Wolf works closely with various branches of state government, including the State Bond Commission, Attorney General’s Office, Secretary of State’s Office and Legislative Auditor on legal and policy matters relating to state and local government structure, taxation and finance.
He has been a frequent speaker at conferences relating to local government finance: Louisiana Government Finance Officers Association, Louisiana School Business Officers Association, Police Jury Association of Louisiana, Louisiana Municipal Clerks Institute, Association of Governmental Accountants, American Waterworks Association and the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
