Rutherford advises clients in commercial litigation, bankruptcy and government relations matters in Alabama and Washington, D.C. In his litigation practice, he counsels clients on a full range of commercial disputes, including traditional types of disputes as well as more complex litigation.
In the community, Rutherford is deeply involved in numerous philanthropic efforts and community engagements. He serves on the St. Vincent’s Foundation Junior Advisory Board and is a past member of the Red Mountain Park Junior Board of Directors. He has volunteered with the Birmingham Volunteer Lawyers Program, Project H.E.L.P., Project Homeless Connect, the pro bono program administered by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, and Habitat for Humanity. Rutherford was a member of Project Corporate Leadership’s Class of 2017.
Rutherford received his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2011 and his B.A. from the University of Mississippi in 2008.
