Adams and Reese is pleased to announce that Chris P. Perque has joined its Houston office as a Partner in the firm’s globally recognized Intellectual Property Practice Team. Perque has more than 25 years of experience leading litigation teams in patent, trade secret and other technology-related cases. He has also drafted and negotiated more than $30 billion in transactions related to intellectual property, information technologies, and other technology assets, including the sale of refineries and upstream and midstream assets, pharmaceutical licensing and supply, various internet-related agreements, and software licensing and development agreements.
Perque, who previously practiced with Adams and Reese from 2001 to 2007, re-joined the firm in June after serving as litigation counsel for a prominent southwestern regional law firm. Over the course of his career, he has amassed a wealth of experience and specialties in IP and technology law including serving as lead counsel in cases involving patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, copyright infringement, unfair competition and breach of contract; handling software and other cases involving various technologies such as the industrial internet of things (IIOT), distributed networks, speech recognition systems, and others; and litigating claims for trademark infringement, trade dress infringement and trade disparagement. Perque has also performed audits and counseling related to IP assets and strategies, as well as counseling regarding infringement and the validity of U.S. patents. He frequently works with large and small companies on their technology development and management initiatives along with the protection of their intellectual property.
