Trying cases is what I do best. My strategy for trial is simple: it’s about preparation, confidence, and fully understanding your client’s needs. No matter what the facts may be, my goal is to be the most prepared person in the courtroom. As the legendary Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant once said, “It’s not the will to win that matters — everyone has that. It’s the will to prepare to win that matters.”

Neal Townsend is an experienced litigator and skilled trial attorney who has taken numerous cases to verdict in both state and federal courts.

Neal handles complex litigation, concentrating his practice in the areas of construction defects; transportation and logistics; catastrophic personal injury, including wrongful death and traumatic brain injury (TBI); commercial liability and medical malpractice/healthcare facility liability. Neal also defends a full range of professionals in malpractice cases, including architects, engineers and physicians.

In addition to defending clients in high-stakes disputes, Neal counsels corporations and government agencies on loss mitigation and assignment and transfer of risk. Through negotiation of contractual terms and indemnification clauses, Neal often helps clients limit litigation exposure. He has frequently lectured on topics related to complex litigation and courtroom trial strategies.

Prior to joining Adams and Reese, Neal served as the Civil Law Clerk for Judge Sarah Stewart of the 13th Judicial Circuit of Mobile County and as a Law Clerk for the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office. As a law student, Neal was Scholar of Merit recipient, Dean's List recipient and a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) National Trial Team and the 2011–2012 top-ranked Cumberland School of Law National Trial Team.
