Jannea Rogers joined Adams and Reese in 2000 and is the Team Leader on the Casualty and Coverage team. She has engaged in civil litigation in Alabama, Florida and Georgia since 1989. Her practice has focused on defense in the areas of product and premises liability; professional malpractice, including medical, architectural and engineering; D&O liability and insurance coverage litigation, including bad faith.
She handles all phases of representation from initial investigation through trial and appeal. Her significant contributions include:
- Representation of manufacturers in defense of their products, not only for design and defect claims, but also warning, labeling and instruction claims, marketing representation and warranty claims.
- Representation in personal injury, premises and professional liability defense of the design and construction industries; property damage defect claims, contract claims including bond retainage and payment disputes, mechanics liens and disputes among project parties.
- Representation of both plaintiff and defendant in commercial litigation including disputes between and on behalf of companies including claims for bad faith, fraud, intentional interference with business relations, fair debt collection practices, directors and officers liability, contract management and ownership disputes among shareholders/members, representation of insurance agents, brokers and carriers including issuance of coverage opinions and declaratory judgment suits to defense of bad faith failure to investigate or pay claims, accounting and legal malpractice claims as well as securities fraud matters.
- Defense of personal injury matters for individuals and companies ranging from minor property damage disputes to paraplegic/death claims in senior health care, home health, child care, retail and sports and recreation venues.
- Membership in three state bar associations (Alabama, Florida and Georgia) as well as all federal courts in Alabama and Florida as well as in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Jannea is a frequent speaker for legal and industry groups on a variety of practice area topics, including electronic data management, mechanic liens, trial tactics and legal surveys. She is the published author of a white paper for the AIA Trust as well trial tactic articles for trade publications including the American Journal of Trial Advocacy; she frequently presents in-house seminars for clients on specialized topics.
In her free time, Jannea enjoys reading, playing piano, skeet, travel, hunting and fishing with her husband and son. She is involved as a member of a Carnival Association as well as the Senior Bowl of Mobile. She serves on the Board of Advisors and on the Ambassadors Committee for the Mobile Chamber of Commerce. She is actively involved in fundraising for a variety of charities including the American Cancer Society and Friends of the Mobile Animal Shelter.
