Matt Jackson joined Adams and Reese in 2011 and is a Partner in the Litigation Practice Group. Based in the Firm’s Mobile, Alabama office, Matt’s practice is focused primarily on litigation, business and corporate law, probate matters, and economic development.

Matt’s litigation experience covers many diverse areas of the law. Most recently, Matt has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in the following types of cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts:

  • Complex commercial disputes, including litigation arising from commercial transactions and contracts, commercial leases, mergers and acquisitions, the sale and development of commercial real estate, and creditors’ rights;
  • Business disputes involving business torts, trade secrets, shareholder disputes, and corporate governance and derivative litigation;
  • Probate litigation involving wills, trusts, estates, conservatorships, and guardianships;
  • Admiralty and maritime cases involving the enforcement of maritime liens, commercial disputes, and personal injury; and
  • Personal injury and premises liability claims.

In addition to litigation, Matt also advises clients in the areas noted above, as well as business and corporate law, education law, charter schools, probate matters, and economic development.

Matt earned his J.D., cum laude, from Mississippi College School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and was inducted into the Order of Barristers, which is a national honorary organization that recognizes law students for outstanding trial advocacy skills. In addition to competing and excelling in regional and national trial and appellate competitions, Matt also received the Merit Scholarship, was named to the Dean’s List, won American Jurisprudence awards, and won best brief awards in appellate competitions. Matt received his B.A. from Huntingdon College, where he was a three-time All-Conference baseball player.

In his spare time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, playing golf, and traveling.
