Rocklan “Rocky” William King III


Rocklan “Rocky” King joined Adams and Reese in 2013 as a Partner in the Litigation Practice Group in the firm’s Nashville office.

Practicing law since 2007, Rocky focuses his practice in complex litigation including business and tort disputes. He has represented clients in product liability disputes, commercial contract disputes, labor and employment matters, and health care matters, including both fraud investigations and health care liability litigations.

In addition to his litigation practice, Rocky also serves as regulatory counsel to his clients. His regulatory counsel includes guidance and advice regarding compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the False Claims Act, the STARK Act, Anti-Kickback statute and the Fair Labor Standards Act.

His representative cases include:

  • Obtained defense verdict for client in a commercial contract dispute arising from a failed corporate acquisition.
  • Obtained defense verdict in an insurance coverage bad faith litigation.
  • Successfully obtained judgment for a client in a real estate contract dispute.
  • Obtained defense verdict for medical practice group in health care liability litigation regarding informed consent.
  • Represented multi-state train system in numerous personal injury claims arising from the collision of two trains.
  • Advising and counseling clients involved in insurance coverage disputes regarding property coverage, business interruption, general liability, directors and officers’ liability, employment practices, toxic tort, and excess insurance issues.

Rocky was a College Scholar at the University of Tennessee and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political and Legal Philosophy. He earned his law degree from the George Mason University School of Law where he served as president of the Moot Court Board and a member of the Student Bar Association.

In his spare time, Rocky enjoys playing golf and spending time on his family’s farm in East Tennessee.
