The Sarasota Herald-Tribune released United Way’s list of the “50 Most Generous Workplaces” in Sarasota, and the law firm of Adams and Reese ranked No. 40. The ranking includes philanthropic contributions from the year 2014, from the organization and its employees during the United Way workplace campaign.
“It’s inspiring to see how our business community promotes philanthropy and how the people in those workplaces respond to a culture of caring,” said Afira DeVries, chief development and innovations officer of United Way Suncoast. “After the hardships so many faced during the recession, we are seeing resurgence in giving at all levels.”
The Adams and Reese employee volunteer program, HUGS (Hope, Understanding, Giving, and Support), was founded in 1988 and has since devoted financial resources and thousands of volunteer hours to offer assistance to those in need. Every year throughout Adams and Reese’s regional footprint, employees donate time, money and supplies to more than 200 community organizations in need.
