Chaséray Griffin Joins Adams and Reese, Strengthens Education and Charter School Teams

Chaséray L. Griffin has joined the firm’s New Orleans office as an Associate. Griffin works with the firm’s education and charter school teams on matters involving special education, charter authorization, school discipline and other school-related issues.

Griffin worked with New Orleans-area nonprofit organizations prior to attending law school. From 2012 – 2015, he served in multiple roles at the Southern Poverty Law Center, working with a team of attorneys and advocates to design and execute strategic legal campaigns targeting reforms within Louisiana’s criminal justice and public education systems. He supported students in school disciplinary hearings and special education meetings, and conducted other school-related advocacy and outreach in support of larger legal campaigns to reform special education and disciplinary practices in schools. Griffin also mentored and supported a team of community advocates.

His experience also includes serving as a legal intern at Advocacy Center, assisting the special education department with cases in federal court and due process hearings, in addition to developing materials for parents on special education issues such as assistive technology, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the rights of students in private schools, related services and independent education evaluations.

During law school, Griffin served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Nannette Brown, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

He received his J.D., cum laude, from the Loyola University College of Law in 2018, and his B.A. from Loyola University in 2008.
