Adams and Reese congratulates clients - Olympic Medalist Alex Walsh and U.S. National Champion Gretchen Walsh - for the sisters’ launch of their second Sporti Swim collection.
Since NIL deals have emerged in college sports, the Walsh sisters are the first college athletes to team up with a nationally-recognized swim brand for a co-branded collection. The second collection comes on the heels of the sisters’ continued accomplishments in the pool, helping University of Virginia capture its third consecutive NCAA Women’s Swim & Dive National Championship in March 2023.
Gretchen, a three-time individual NCAA champion, set the NCAA record in the world’s fastest 100-yard backstroke. Alex is a 2020 Olympic Silver Medalist, five-time individual NCAA champion, and 2022 world champion in the 200-meter IM. The two have been featured by ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Swimming World, among other national and global media.
Adams and Reese Intellectual Property Attorney Haverly MacArthur represents the Walsh sisters in their NIL deals that allow college athletes to be compensated for the use of their name, image, and likeness through marketing and promotional endeavors. Adams and Reese also assists the Walsh sisters in contract agreements, including the review of the terms with their first agent.
The Walsh sisters’ new line of swimwear – “Sporti x Alex + Gretchen Walsh Palm Springs Collection” also billed as Palm Springs Splendor Meets Joshua Tree Charm – is available on SwimOutlet.com. The website has sold 25 million suits since its founding in 2000. Sporti is the SwimOutlet’s top performance swimwear line.
“Designing this collection felt like a natural celebration of our accomplishments, not only with the success of our first collection but also in our swimming careers. We aimed to encapsulate everything we value about Sporti as a brand, as well as ensure the collection was a reflection of our journey, our victories and the love we have for swimming,” said Gretchen in a SwimSwam press release.
Alex added: “We hope people will make their own memories in these suits. Through this collection, we hope to empower young swimmers to express themselves and inspire them to make waves in their own lives, just as we have in ours.”
