Adams and Reese Partner and Construction Team Co-Leader Trent Cotney was a guest on Roofing Road Trips® where he discussed with RoofersCoffeeShop host Heidi Ellsworth his holiday season tradition of matching charitable donations made to organizations dedicated to boosting the roofing industry.
Through his tradition, Cotney hopes to encourage associations to consider making a charitable donation this holiday season to a worthy cause, and he will match up to $2,500 for each association, up to $10,000 in total.
“I've always been a big believer that you should give back,” said Cotney. “Part of my philosophy is I owe everything as far as my success to the industry. I think it's really important that we give back not just for present needs, but for the future. Most of these associations have a scholarship element where they're getting students out there into hopefully the industry, a lot of great philanthropic charity type roofs, all kinds of different things that they're doing. But I really think it's important to support the industry that supports us, right?”
Cotney continued: “This is something that is near and dear to my heart. When I leave this earth and my son takes over for me or does whatever, I want to be able to look back and see some of the good that I've done.”
Ellsworth and Cotney encouraged listeners to visit the Giving Back page on the RoofersCoffeeShop® website. Sponsored by Adams and Reese, this page is a one-stop-shop for those interested in contributing to this season of giving. Participants are encouraged to take their time researching the four chosen organizations and their missions and scholarships, donating to their group of choice – Roofing Alliance, Davis Memorial Foundation, CRCA Foundation, or FRSA Education & Research Foundation.
