For the fifth consecutive year, the Adams and Reese Energy and Natural Resources practice was ranked in Band 1, or the top tier, in the Chambers USA 2014 edition, as through interviews with clients and peer attorneys, Chambers lists and ranks firms in practice areas across each state.
The Chambers directory says the Adams and Reese energy practice is known for “oil and gas experts, able to handle transactional, regulatory and litigation mandates on behalf of their clients, and heavily involved in significant litigation in Mississippi of late with the participation of colleagues across the Southeast. They represent all kinds of clients in the oil and gas arena, and are highly respected in that area.”
In addition to the practice area being ranked in the top tier, three of the firm’s attorneys were ranked as “Leaders in their Field” in Energy and Natural Resources, including Jefferson Stewart, Jerry Sheldon and Jeffrey Trotter.
The Chambers directory also said about Adams and Reese attorneys: “Jerry Sheldon is the team's leading title attorney who also specializes in regulatory matters. He offers clients considerable experience with around four decades in practice. Litigation expert Jeffrey Trotter represented Chevron Phillips Chemical in obtaining the reversal and remand of a $15.2 million personal injury verdict concerning asbestos exposure in Mississippi oilfields. One peer remarks: “I just think he does a good job! And whenever I run into him, he is doing work for quality clients.”
The editors and researchers with Chambers and Partners annually conduct thousands of in-depth interviews with clients and attorneys in order to assess the reputations and experience of business lawyers in 175 countries across the world. In compiling the 2014 edition, close to 5,000 interviews were conducted to decide whom to include in the guide, which is based solely on market recommendations.
