Amazon will soon be taking steps to share more information on sellers beginning September 1 in a push that it says will help consumers make more informed decisions as they shop for goods online.

In a July 20 Managing IP article, "Amazon Takes New Stand Against Counterfeits, But Brands Want More," Kristina Montanaro Schrader and other intellectual property attorneys share their thoughts on Amazon's new policy. 

Many IP attorneys have wanted Amazon to publish this data for years because it will reduce the time they spend chasing it, according to the article. Kristina notes, however, the challenges in IP enforcement thanks to sellers giving fake information to Amazon.
