Adams and Reese is pleased to announce Liz Roussel has been appointed Employment Practices and Workplace Liability Section Vice Chair within the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC). Roussel was named one of six Vice Chairs for this section at FDCC’s 2018 Annual Meeting, which was held July 29–August 4.

FDCC’s substantive law sections are established in fields of law and practice that are material to the interests and professional activities of the membership, and meet regularly during the organization’s Winter and Annual Meetings. Between meetings, section members conduct their assigned activities and maintain a close working relationship through the publication of newsletters and other activities facilitating knowledge sharing.

FDCC’s members include U.S. and international civil defense litigators, senior corporate counsel and insurance claims executives. The organization promotes knowledge, fellowship and professionalism for lawyers and other professionals striving to achieve a balanced justice system in the defense of civil lawsuits.

Recognized by Best Lawyers® on multiple occasions, Roussel focuses her practice on advising employers and managers of businesses and defending their interests in litigation. Over the years, she has represented a wide variety of clients including energy and oil and gas companies, healthcare organizations, financial institutions, Fortune 500 companies, retailers, public entities, nonprofits, state agencies, private universities, charter schools, start-ups and technology companies.

Roussel regularly defends clients in jury trials, bench trials and arbitrations. Her litigation experience includes representing employers in wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment and retaliation suits; defending directors and officers in mismanagement, consumer protection, fraud, breach of contract and unfair trade practice suits; and counseling companies in commercial disputes, enforcement of non-competition and non-solicitation agreements and derivative suits. She also advises employers on compliance with federal and state law and directors and officers of private and non-profit companies on corporate governance matters.
