Attorney Lyndey Ritz Zwing of the Adams and Reese Columbia office was named the 2018 South Carolina Bar Young Lawyer of the Year for outstanding contributions to the community and the bar’s Young Lawyers Division.

The honor is the second honor for Zwing in 2018 as she was named to the 2018 Capital Young Professional (CYP) Awards Top Ten Finalists by Columbia Metropolitan Magazine and the United Way of the Midlands in February. Having been named the SC Bar’s Young Lawyer of the Year on March 9, Zwing will be officially recognized by the bar’s Board of Governors and House of Delegates on May 24.

One of 15 nominees for the award, Zwing was nominated by an attorney working for the South Carolina Senate Judiciary Committee. She received five letters of support and ten references from member of the bar spanning the state of South Carolina in addition to one from Washington, DC, and another from Tennessee. Zwing’s nominators included law professors, staff members of the bar, colleagues in private practice, corporate in-house counsel, government attorneys, and a federal judge.

Zwing joined Adams and Reese in 2013. Her practice focuses on a wide array of litigation issues, including trial and appellate representation in complex business disputes. She also represents trustees, personal representative and beneficiaries in cases related to wealth transfer, including estates, trusts and closely-held businesses.

In the community, Zwing is actively involved with the United Way of the Midland, serving as Chair Elect of the Young Leaders Society’s Steering Committee. She also volunteers through the South Carolina Bar as Fifth Circuit Representative to the Young Lawyers Division, representing Richland and Kershaw Counties, and is also a member of the Bar’s Diversity Committee. Zwing earned the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division President’s Award in 2016 and 2017, and was named among the “Best & Brightest 35 and Under” by Columbia Business Monthly in 2016.

In addition, Zwing serves on the Adams and Reese HUGS (Hope, Understanding, Giving and Support) Committee for the Columbia office through which she assists the firm in implementing community service activities. She was a recipient of the Firm’s 2014 and 2015 HUGS Columbia Volunteer of the Year awards.
