Adams and Reese attorney Matt Hill, in the law firm’s Columbia office, has been named to the South Carolina Bar Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee, which reviews allegations of unauthorized law practice and coordinates those findings with the Attorney General.

Hill will serve a one-year term.

At Adams and Reese, Hill practices in real estate law, providing counsel to individuals and real estate development groups in connection with the acquisition, sale, construction and development of commercial and residential real estate projects. He also maintains an active banking and finance practice, serving as counsel to banks and other institutional lenders, which provide construction, term, permanent and conduit financing to their customers.

Hill is an active member of the South Carolina Bar and Richland County Bar Association. He is a past recipient of the RCBA’s Civic Star Award which is given in recognition of exceptional and meritorious public service to the community for activities outside the practice of law.

Hill is a graduate of the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Columbia program.  He is a member of the program’s alumni association and on the board of the Leadership Columbia Alumni Association. He also serves on the board of the South Carolina Wildlife Federation and is a past president of the Columbia Kiwanis Club, where he currently serves on the board.
