Adams and Reese partner Jannea S. Rogers has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the Mobile Bar Association Women Lawyers Section (MBAWL) for a one-year term. Rogers will be one of seven advisors to the Women Lawyers Section, an unofficial active sub-section of the Mobile Bar Association. The appointment is Rogers’ first term on the board.

At Adams and Reese, Rogers serves as Casualty and Coverage Team Leader and is a litigation partner in the firm’s Mobile office. Her practice is focused on defense in the areas of product and premises liability; professional malpractice, including medical, architectural and engineering; D&O liability and insurance coverage litigation, including bad faith. Rogers handles all phases of representation, from initial investigation through trial and appeal.

Rogers is a frequent speaker for legal and industry groups on a variety of practice area topics, including electronic data management, mechanic liens, coverage issues, construction defect claims, trial tactics and legal surveys. She is a published author, having contributed trial tactic articles for trade publications including the American Journal of Trial Advocacy and DRI as well as a white paper for the AIA Trust. She also frequently presents in-house seminars for clients on specialized topics.

In the Mobile community, Rogers is a member of the Carnival Association as well as the Senior Bowl of Mobile. She serves on the Board of Advisors and Ambassadors Committee for the Mobile Chamber of Commerce. She is also actively involved in fundraising for a variety of charities including the American Cancer Society and Friends of the Mobile Animal Shelter.

MBAWL provides opportunity for women lawyers in the Mobile area to network, develop relationships and facilitate discussion about the unique challenges women lawyers face in Mobile. The group further helps women lawyers advance in the profession by facilitating and encouraging increased numbers of women in equity partnerships within law firms, as elected judges both locally and statewide, and as leaders in professional associations of lawyers nationwide. MBAWL organizes monthly luncheons featuring speakers discussing CLE-eligible topics, networking and social events, and other events throughout the year.
