Paige ParkerIn recognition of Women’s History Month, Adams and Reese is pleased to feature several of our client and partner executives leading their businesses and also the leaders at our law firm.

Paige Parker is the Founder and CEO of Happenstance Whiskey - the only 100% women owned whiskey company in Nashville, Tennessee. A former marketing executive for Anheuser-Busch, the self-made entrepreneur wanted a whiskey spirit that was more approachable. That led Paige to creating Happenstance, a premium whiskey blended and bottled in Nashville.

Paige was featured in the Nashville Business Journal shortly after launching her business. Paige’s product has been featured in People, Nashville Lifestyle, Yahoo! Finance, Bevnet, and on Fox News.

What is the best advice you received throughout your career?

“Fear kills more dreams than failure ever will - as an entrepreneur, you’re constantly overcoming fear and oftentimes there is no roadmap to follow for the path you’re on. The most successful entrepreneurs have learned that regret of not pursuing your dreams is worse than failure ever will be.”

What is the biggest professional hurdle you overcame, and what did you learn from it?

“I was seeking a more contemporary and premium whiskey experience and when I realized that didn't exist, I set out to create it on my own. Coming from the corporate world at Budweiser, I had an understanding of what the marketplace needed but there was no blueprint to follow in creating my company Happenstance; and only a handful of women in bourbon to look to.

Ultimately, the challenge fueled my creativity and curiosity leading Happenstance to become the only 100% women-owned, founded and led bourbon company in Nashville. Pursue your goals with confidence and do not let a lack of role models in an industry limit you from being that role model for someone else.”

What does Women’s History Month mean to you?

“Women’s history month is an opportunity to celebrate all the amazing women who have admirably trailblazed the path before and to support the women of today, in their careers & personal lives, as they continue to better the path for women to come.”
