Adams & Reese attorneys Billy Wright and Cate Creed have been selected among the 2025 “Leadership in Law” honorees by New Orleans CityBusiness. The publication annually recognizes attorneys, in-house counsel, and legal educators for their professional accomplishments and contributions to the New Orleans community.

Honorees will be celebrated at an awards event on Oct. 6 from 5-7 p.m. at the New Orleans Museum of Art. A publication profiling the honorees will be inserted into the Oct. 17 issue.

At Adams & Reese, Wright is a member of the Litigation Practice Group and the Insurance Team, and a Partner in the New Orleans office. A litigator for more than a decade, Wright represents clients in charter and public-school litigation, industrial accident litigation, general insurance casualty litigation, excess/umbrella insurance litigation, and uninsured motorist insurance litigation. He rounds out his practice on a wide array of litigation, including contract disputes, business torts, and disputes pertaining to successions, wills, and trusts.

In the New Orleans community, Wright is a board member of both the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation (GNOSF) and the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute (NORLI), and he is an active volunteer with Fore!Kids Foundation and their signature event, the Zurich Classic.

Creed is a member of the Adams & Reese Litigation Practice Group, and she focuses her practice on representing businesses and governmental entities in a variety of legal matters, including all manners of commercial disputes, contract disputes, property damage disputes, maritime claims, corporate governance issues, public finance transactions, and economic development projects. Additionally, she advises clients on economic and industrial development projects, facilitating growth and fostering beneficial partnerships between the public and private sectors.

In the community, Creed is an active member of the American Cancer Society’s Junior Executive Board, the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation’s Board of Directors, and the Young Leadership Council (YLC) of New Orleans. She serves on YLC’s Wednesday at the Square Fundraising Committee and was the recipient of Adams & Reese’s 2024 Champion of Diversity award for her leadership and development of the Street Law Legal Diversity Pipeline Program.
