Adams & Reese Partner Billy Wright Selected to NORLI Board of Directors

Adams & Reese Partner Billy Wright has been selected to join the board of directors for the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute (NORLI). The nonprofit formally announced Wright’s selection at its annual luncheon held on July 18. Wright will initially serve a three-year term.
Through 25 years of leadership development programming, NORLI has provided local business and community leaders with the opportunity to identify, collaborate, and address key issues for the betterment of the Greater New Orleans region. Wright, who graduated in the NORLI Class of 2024, is one of more than 1,000 NORLI alumni and among a diverse group of stakeholders representing close to 500 companies and organizations from across the 10-parish region.
At Adams & Reese, Wright is a leading member of the Litigation Practice Group and the Insurance Team, and a Partner in the New Orleans office. A litigator for more than a decade, Wright represents clients in charter and public-school litigation, industrial accident litigation, general insurance casualty litigation, excess/umbrella insurance litigation, and uninsured motorist insurance litigation. He rounds out his practice on a wide array of litigation, including contract disputes, business torts, and disputes pertaining to successions, wills, and trusts.
In the New Orleans community, Wright is also a board member of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation. With GNOSF, Wright works with local leaders and economic development officials to attract major sporting events to New Orleans and then manage the big events upon arrival. Wright played a major role in helping to prepare New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX, which had an estimated economic impact of more than $1.25 billion in Louisiana. In addition to providing legal services as one of the Super Bowl Committee’s attorneys, Wright volunteered on the Super Bowl Host Committee’s Hospitality and Events Subcommittee.
Wright is also a member of the Fore!Kids Foundation as he works year-round to fundraise for children’s organizations and to help produce the award-winning Zurich Classic of New Orleans PGA Tour golf tournament held every spring. Wright also volunteers with Southeast Louisiana Legal Services and the New Orleans Pro Bono Project, taking cases on a pro bono basis and volunteering at the Civil District Court’s pro se litigant help desk.
Wright has been recognized by clients and peers among Louisiana Super Lawyers® “Rising Stars” (2023-2025) in Professional Liability, Civil Litigation, Employment Litigation, Business Litigation, and Insurance. He has also been selected among Best Lawyers® “Ones to Watch” (2022-2025) in Commercial Litigation, Insurance Law, Medical Malpractice Law – Defendants, and Personal Injury Litigation – Defendants.
