Emory graduated magna cum laude, from University of Houston Law Center, receiving many honors including Order of the Coif, Order of the Barons, Order of Barristers, National Order of Scribes, and a Dean’s Scholarship. He also served as Executive Chair of the Blakely Moot Court Team; Senior Articles Editor of the Houston Journal of International Law; and Associate Justice for the Student Government Association Supreme Court.
Emory was an active member of the UHLC Moot Court team during his time in law school and received several awards including the State Bar of Texas, Award for Excellence in Appellate Advocacy; Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court Competition “Best Oral Advocate”; and Best Brief at the ABA Law Student National Appellate Advocacy Competition Regionals.
Outside of the office and in the Houston community, Emory continues his involvement with the UHLC team as a coach and adjunct professor for the Appellate Advocacy course. He also volunteers with various local LGBTQIA+ organizations, including serving as a board member with the Trans Legal Aid Clinic of Texas.
