Overview
Government spending can bolster an organization’s finances on both sides of the balance sheet: the federal government alone generates more than $750 billion in revenue each year for its contractors, while corporate grant recipients average 3 percent less debt than their peers.
Yet just 48 percent of U.S. businesses say they understand the opportunities available to them. We’re here to correct that – and to capture critical resources for our clients.
Additionally, state and local governments, agencies, non-profits, and other quasi-governmental agencies often rely on federal funding streams, including grants and appropriations, to provide capital for a variety of projects, including infrastructure, transportation, healthcare, public works, law enforcement, and other programs vital for communities.
Delivering Strategic Access To Funding
Adams & Reese helps clients identify, pursue, and win government opportunities of all types, securing critical resources for hospitals, higher education organizations, manufacturers, and municipal governments. Our attorneys and advisors leverage our established relationships and strategic advocacy to maximize financial opportunities through:
- Grants: We draw on experience and relationships with federal and state agencies to identify, review, and support applications for federal and state grant opportunities. We assist clients in analyzing grant requirements, facilitate support for proposal development, and conduct necessary follow-up with stakeholders in support of grant applications.
- Appropriations: Our Government Relations team are well-versed in the federal appropriations process, as well as on state budget requirements where funding is needed to push a project to fruition. We draft annual appropriations requests, while also utilizing our advocacy skills behind the scenes to provide as much support as possible for the requests.
- Government Contracts: We guide clients through federal and state procurement processes and systems, helping them understand complex regulatory environments and meet compliance requirements. Our government contract attorneys position clients for repeat wins by building longstanding relationships and navigating the perplexing deadlines and directives of various agencies.
- Funding: We craft and execute funding strategies that leverage congressionally directed spending, agency-specific programmatic initiatives, and cross-program appropriations to meet client objectives. We take a holistic approach to client funding needs, working in concert with the firm’s Legislative Advocacy and Economic Development teams to find creative solutions that span various agencies, programs, and appropriations cycles and, when necessary, to advocate for new policies, programs, or the elimination of certain requirements.
Maximizing Resources Through Strategic Advocacy
Regardless of the specific funding vehicle, clients benefit from our extensive experience and ten-state footprint, including an office in Washington, DC. Our presence in the Capitol helps us identify and pursue client opportunities across the Southeast, as far west as Texas and Colorado. Our team brings decades of public- and private-sector experience – including service on Capitol Hill and in federal policy organizations – to align funding strategies with legislative trends and administrative priorities. Each year, our collaborative approach secures eight figures in government funding and public sector contracts for clients.
We help clients translate opportunity into outcome – building coalitions, crafting persuasive proposals, and removing administrative barriers with clarity and precision.
