The Tennessee ABC has set a new deadline for filing applications that require a hearing before the full Commission. Applications must be filed at least three weeks before the next Commission meeting in order to make the agenda. The previous deadline was two weeks.

There is no change for applications that do not need to go before the Commission, such as restaurants, bars, hotels and food stores. These applications are approved by staff and do not require Commission approval.

The new deadlines begin with the January 2026 meeting. The deadline for filing applications for inclusion on the agenda for the January 29 Commission meeting is January 8, 2026.

Applicants for retail package stores, distilleries, wineries, wholesalers, non-resident sellers and direct shippers must plan ahead for the new three-week deadline.

All this talk about deadlines has us singing Prince:

2000, zero, zero, party over
Oops, out of time
So tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1999
