The number of ransomware attacks on municipalities and other governmental entities is increasing every day. Both large and small governments are being attacked and the results can be catastrophic.

Roy Hadley will moderate a panel discussion, "Ransomware and Governments: Practical Advice for Lawyers on a Growing Threat," at the International Municipal Lawyers Association (IMLA) Annual Conference, September 19 in Atlanta. The discussion will give practical advice to lawyers on how they can help to make their governments, courts and agencies more resilient to these attacks.

In addition to sharing practical lessons learned from the front lines, this session will explore best practices for both preventing attacks and mitigating their impact should an attack occur. Further, the panel will discuss federal assistance to municipalities and well as cyber insurance.
