Lucian Pera spoke with the ABA Journal in an article framing the ABA Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility's recently-issued formal opinion that reaffirms lawyers' duty to protect client information against data breaches and other forms of cyberattacks. The new opinion also states lawyers must notify clients in the event of a data breach.
