Mathews Appointed Board Vice-Chair of Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities

The LEH works with federal, state, and local governments to improve educational outcomes and preserve the state’s cultural traditions. Last year, the LEH invested more than $14 million in Louisiana communities and reached nearly three million residents.
Mathews has served on the LEH board since 2020. Elected board members represent the cultural, academic, philanthropic and business communities, support organizational goal attainment; and aid in the cultivation of relationships that enhance organizational advocacy, fundraising, and program/initiative success. Mathews joins LEH board leadership: Chair, Linda Holyfield (Founder and Retired President/CEO of Specialty Management Services); Treasurer, Mark Gremillion (Owner/CEO of C. Mark Gremillion, LLC Appraisers); and Secretary Marie Moyse Schlesinger (Attorney, Social Security Disability Law).
At Adams & Reese, Mathews is a Partner in both the New Orleans and Baton Rouge offices. He focuses his diverse practice on administrative and regulatory matters, litigation and government contracting. Much of his work directly affects the insurance sector, and he has helped insurance clients in various spaces ranging from claims litigation to regulatory and administrative practice.
In 2024, Mathews was selected by peers as the Best Lawyers “Lawyer of the Year” in Baton Rouge in Administrative/Regulatory Law. He is also ranked in the national publication in the practice areas of Government Relations and Commercial Litigation. He is a former recipient of “Forty Under 40” by Baton Rouge Business Report.
