I’ve spent the last three decades working to establish a global economic development network. I enjoy sharing my connectivity and knowledge in a wide array of industrial sectors with clients. Working in both the public and private sector has provided many opportunities and experiences in understanding how to navigate successful outcomes when it comes to supporting clients with economic development matters.

David King is an accomplished professional economic developer with over three decades of experience, bringing a deep knowledge of legislative, regulatory, and state procurement processes to advise clients on economic development and government relations matters.

Before joining Adams and Reese, David was a founding member of the Central Carolina Economic Development Alliance (now known as Central SC Alliance), a 501c(3) non-profit providing regional economic development services, cultivating economic advancement and enrichment in the counties of the Central South Carolina Region. The CSCA is the region’s lead economic development alliance representing eight member counties and the state’s capital city of Columbia.

Throughout his 28-year career with CSCA, including his role as Vice President of Global Business Recruitment, David was part of a team of economic developers that assisted Central South Carolina projects with announced capital investment of nearly $20 billion and the creation of over 80,000 new jobs through relationships with corporate site selectors, C-Suite executives and government officials.

David managed lead generation firms to assist in identifying strategic targets for global business recruitment and led more than 100 purpose-driven global business recruitment missions for various key stakeholders, including government officials and staff. He also developed creative marketing decks through targeted research to utilize in negotiating with start-ups, privately held businesses, and publicly traded companies.

Before joining a CSCA, David worked for the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, serving as the Director of Marketing in the Economic Development Division.

In the community, David has volunteered to support numerous organizations and served on the board of directors for a major hospital foundation, junior golf foundation, food bank, public education, and the arts.

David King is not licensed to practice law.
