Overview
Jack Pontin is a member of the Adams & Reese Litigation Practice. Based in the New Orleans office and licensed to practice in Louisiana, Jack represents corporate clients through all stages of the litigation process, including working with companies on dispute resolution measures and through any litigious issues affecting their business operations.
Jack was a former law clerk at Adams & Reese, and he clerked for both the Louisiana Department of Justice – Attorney General’s Office and the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office. Through his clerkships, Jack gained experience both in and out of the courtroom – drafting motions for summary judgment; attending depositions, appellate arguments, federal and district court hearings, and civil proceedings; and authoring memos and motions.
Gaining experience in alcohol and hospitality law, Jack was a runner for ATG Licensing Consultants, filing applications with the New Orleans Alcohol and Tobacco Control office to attain permits for clients throughout the state, and working with the City of New Orleans Department of Revenue to amend occupational licenses.
A New Orleans native, Jack earned his J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Loyola Journal of Public Interest Law. He received his B.B.A. in Finance, cum laude, from the University of Mississippi, where he was a Business School Ambassador.
In the community, Jack is a volunteer on his alma mater’s alumni board at Jesuit High School New Orleans, and he is a board member of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Louisiana, Red Shoe Krewe.
