Overview
Nick concentrates his practice on financial services litigation, representing and advising banks and other financial institutions in litigation that includes commercial and fiduciary disputes, regulatory matters, consumer litigation, writs of garnishment, receivership orders, and beyond. In his advisory capacity, he helps clients identify both potential risks and opportunities and develop creative legal strategies to respond.
As a summer associate during law school and later as an associate in corporate restructuring at an AmLaw 50 firm, Nick gained broad and valuable finance, credit, and debt-related experience now applied to resolving financial institutions’ disputes. His work as a judicial intern for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of Texas and as a judicial extern for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the District of Arizona gave him the opportunity to draft memoranda, assist in the drafting of opinions, and develop his skills as a litigator. Migrating from bankruptcy and related law to representing financial institutions in disputes was a natural progression for Nick.
Prior to attending law school, Nick used his undergraduate education in hotel and restaurant management in multiple hospitality businesses, where he honed the critical skills of listening, communicating effectively, and creative problem-solving, qualities shared by effective litigators.
While attending the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, Nick served as Articles Editor for the Corporate and Business Law Journal. He also took on pro bono cases as a member of the school’s First Amendment Clinic, established to help individuals stand up for their First Amendment rights.
