The Houston Business Journal ranks Adams and Reese among the “Outstanding Diversity Champions” in its 2024 Diversity in Business Awards. The awards recognize companies that have harnessed diversity within their workforces and are taking the lead to promote and champion diversity within the community and/or their industries.

The Houston Business Journal announced the honorees on Feb. 15 on its website. Honorees will be recognized at a Diversity in Business Awards luncheon on March 28 at the Marriott Marquis Houston, and will also be featured in a special print publication on March 29.

“Houston is considered one of the most diverse cities in the country, and we’ve got the businesses to prove it,” writes Jonathan Adams, Managing Editor of the Houston Business Journal. “That's why the Houston Business Journal is proud to celebrate the companies prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion with its 2024 Diversity in Business Awards. This year, 31 businesses in industries have been recognized as organizations that have shown exceptional commitment to promoting these practices in the workplace.”

The Houston Business Journal honor adds to several recent honors and recognitions that Adams and Reese has received for its DEI efforts and results, including awards and honors from regional, national, and legal industry publications, including New Orleans CityBusiness, Biz941 Magazine, Birmingham Business Journal, Minority Law Journal, Multicultural Law Magazine, Women 3.0, American Lawyer, Corporate Counsel Women of Color, among other publications.  

Since 2008, Adams and Reese has ranked among the “Top 200 Law Firms in Diversity” on the American Lawyer Media Diversity Scorecard. In 2023, for the second consecutive year, Adams and Reese achieved Mansfield Certification, a national standard by Diversity Lab recognizing companies that increase inclusivity and diversity in leadership. Since its founding in 1951, Adams and Reese has benefited from diverse leadership in a variety of capacities, including our Executive Committee Chair, EC members, Practice Group Leaders, Partners in Charge, and client and practice team leaders. Adams and Reese’s pipeline programs and initiatives cultivate an inclusive legal community and environment that empower the next generation of attorneys.

Adams and Reese is one of two law firms in the Southeast honored with the ALM/Law.com “Diversity Initiative” award. Adams and Reese has earned the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) Approved SILVER Seal, recognizing law firms for establishing sustainable DEI strategies and achieving actionable solutions. Adams and Reese is a member of the MCCA, a coalition of more than 250 law firms and corporations advancing DEI by championing the hiring, retention, and promotion of diverse attorneys. 

Adams and Reese is also a member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), an organization of more than 400 corporate chief legal officers and general counsel of corporations or managing partners of the nation’s leading law firms. Recently, Adams and Reese attorneys Amy Hanna Keeney, and Jin Yoshikawa and Chris Joseph, were selected into the LCLD Fellows and Pathfinders professional development programs, respectively.
