Adams and Reese attorneys have been recognized as “Top Flight Attorneys” by Birmingham, Alabama publications B-Metro and BHM Biz. The honored attorneys – all of whom practice in the Adams and Reese Birmingham office – are: Of Counsel Richard P. Carmody, Special Counsel Robert Eckinger, Of Counsel M. Carmody, a member of the firm’s Transactions and Corporate Advisory Services Practice Team, has been practicing insolvency law for more than 40 years and has secured a nationwide reputation as solid counsel in the field. Carmody represents clients in difficult financial matters and provides counsel to lenders for complex commercial transactions and internal policies. He was recently named the inaugural Adams and Reese National Appleseed Senior Pro Bono Fellow in a new fellowship program launched by the firm.

Eckinger, a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Team, practices in the area of complex litigation, including banking and finance, class actions, antitrust and unfair competition, and business litigation. He primarily represents banks, accounting firms and insurance companies. Eckinger has represented numerous financial institutions in litigation regarding regulatory matters, derivative suits, security cases, antitrust matters, lender liability and consumer class actions, among others. He is a member of the Litigation Counsel of America and is listed in Best Lawyers® (by BL Rankings, LLC) in Commercial Litigation and Super Lawyers® (by Thomson Reuters) Corporate Counsel Edition for Business Litigation. Eckinger is a former member of the Adams and Reese Executive Committee and was the firm’s Litigation Practice Team Leader for several years.

Huckstep is a member of the firm’s Health Care; Real Estate; Corporate, Securities, Mergers and Acquisitions; and Economic Development teams. For more than 25 years, she has guided companies in addressing cutting-edge issues. Health care entities rely on her for substantive advice on regulatory compliance, certificate of need, accreditation, business transactions, labor matters and more. Real estate clients rely on her negotiation skills, strategic planning assistance and aid in brokerage, leasing and property management. Corporations seek out her experience for strategic, financial and compensation planning. Huckstep is also a former chair of the Adams and Reese Executive Committee and a past Partner In Charge of the firm’s Birmingham office.

Rowe, a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Team, is a senior litigator in Alabama. He focuses his practice on securities, health care, products liability, personal injury, professional liability and insurance disputes. Through his experience, Rowe has tried more than 100 cases. In 2009, the Birmingham Business Journal named him among the “Best and Brightest in the Legal Field.” Rowe is listed in Best Lawyers® (by BL Rankings, LLC) in Commercial Litigation, Litigation-Securities, Personal Injury Litigation and Super Lawyers® (by Thomson Reuters) Corporate Counsel Edition - Business Litigation. He is also a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, and he served on the Alabama Board of Bar Commissioners for nine years.
