Adams and Reese was featured in a national ALM Law.com article, “Thoughtful Headcount Growth Steers Midsize Firms to Steady Financial Outcomes,” published on April 10.

The article discussed: “In a shifting market like that experienced in 2022, thoughtful growth was proven to be an effective strategy for strong financial performance. Talent was more available to midsize firms and those firms that took advantage of this availability to grow their strengths or add new, promising skills, saw greater success.

“Adams and Reese provided an example of this. As reported in Law.com, the firm leveraged good recruiting to achieve a 6% revenue increase over its 2021 numbers. One factor involved in the firm’s success was the acquisition of a 16-lawyer construction-focused law firm. Adams and Reese Managing Partner Gif Thornton explained the acquisition as a decision that ‘took a strong practice and moved it toward dominance.’”

In March 2022, Adams and Reese expanded its nationally-ranked construction practice by bringing in 16 attorneys from Tampa -based Cotney Construction Law LLP. Recent Adams and Reese expansions have also included launching offices in Denver and Charlotte.

In May 2022, nationally-recognized liquor lawyers Rob Pinson and Will Cheek joined Adams and Reese to officially launch a dedicated Alcohol and Hospitality Team within the firm’s Intersection of Business and Government practice group.

In addition to alcohol and hospitality, emerging practice areas such as financial services, intellectual property, energy, government relations, among others, have led to growth for the firm. Adams and Reese has reported its revenue is back to near pre-pandemic levels, and investments in regional expansion, targeted practice areas, and an aggressive recruiting strategy have helped steer growth for the regional law firm.
