Atlanta's Amy L. Hanna Keeney was named a 2018 Rising Star by Georgia Super Lawyers® (by Thomson Reuters) for her work in the legal profession.

The honor is the second in as many years for Keeney, who was recognized in the field of Consumer Law. The Rising Stars list recognizes no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in each state. To be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger, or in practice for 10 years or less.

A licensed attorney since 2004, Kapoor began his career working for a Chapter 13 Trustee in Atlanta and continues to devote a substantial amount of time to the bankruptcy sector, representing banks and other secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy cases arising under all chapters of the Bankruptcy Code.

Keeney joined the firm in June 2017 and has been a licensed attorney in Georgia and Florida since 2010 and 2011, respectively. She defends businesses in state and federal litigation throughout the Southeast and has significant experience representing financial institutions – including mortgage services and auto lenders – in a broad range of litigation matters that includes contested foreclosures, repossession disputes involving personal property collateral, homeowners’ association disputes, reformation actions, trash-out claims, REO disputes, lien priority disputes and quiet title claims.

Her additional experience includes advising financial institutions regarding regulatory issues faced in the wake of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Keeney has represented numerous clients in matters involving alleged violations of federal consumer protection statutes and has been an active member the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and an observer of its developments since the CFPB’s inception.
