Adams and Reese Partner and Construction Team Co-Leader Trent Cotney was interviewed by RoofersCoffeeShop during the Florida Association of Roofing Professionals’ 101st Annual Convention and Florida Roofing & Sheet Metal Expo, held July 12-14 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center.

In “Live from FRSA 2023 with Trent Cotney,” Cotney discussed the most recent construction industry laws affecting Florida roofing contractors and professionals, including Florida’s Senate Bill 1718 (Immigration Bill), homeowners’ insurance rates, skilled labor needs, among other challenges and concerns. He also discussed recent Supreme Court decisions impacting the country, including affirmative action and religious accommodations.

A Partner in the Adams and Reese Tampa office, Cotney is a board-certified construction lawyer licensed in eight states and Washington, D.C. In construction litigation and arbitration, he represents construction and infrastructure clients, including general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturers, architects, engineers, roofers, developers, and other professionals. He is an EU arbitrator for construction-related disputes. 

Cotney focuses his practice on all aspects of construction litigation and arbitration, including OSHA defense, lien law, bond law, bid protests, and construction document review and drafting.
