Adams and Reese is pleased to announce the inclusion of four attorneys in the 2019 edition of South Carolina Super Lawyers (by Thomson Reuters), which includes the publication’s “Rising Stars” list.

Since its founding in 1991, Super Lawyers has recognized lawyers in each state who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. To be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger, or in practice for 10 or fewer years. Honorees are selected through a nomination process, a peer-review survey by practice area and independent research on candidates emphasizing professional successes, peer recognition and community involvement.

Bill McElveen has a diverse real estate development and banking and finance practice, serving clients throughout the Southeast. With more than 30 years of experience, McElveen advises private equity firms, REITs and local real estate developers on a variety of projects including office, hotel and retail development, industrial projects, historic rehabilitation projects, brownfield developments, healthcare facilities, student housing projects, educational facilities, and condominium projects. He also counsels clients on commercial lending matters. He serves as counsel to national and regional banks, life insurance companies and other institutional lenders on office and retail development projects, industrial facilities, asset-based financings, credit enhancements to support bond financing, dormitory and sports complex financings for educational institutions, and troubled debt restructuring and workouts. He also provides legal opinions on the enforceability of mortgages and related security instruments.

Lyndey Bryant is a skilled and experienced commercial litigator, who has represented large and small businesses, officers, and directors in complex civil litigation, arbitration, appeals, as well as administrative proceedings. She is ranked by peers among Columbia Business Monthly's "Legal Elite" in both Business Litigation and Estate & Trust - Litigation; selected in South Carolina Super Lawyers "Rising Stars" in Appellate; and honored in Best Lawyers "Ones to Watch" in Commercial Litigation. She counsels businesses regarding enforcement and negotiation of complex contract provisions, including, employment, non-compete, confidentiality, and trade secret agreements.

Will Umbach advises businesses of all types and stages on a full range of legal matters, including mergers and acquisitions, entity formation, governance, corporate divisions, recapitalizations and other restructurings, private securities offerings, and other commercial transactions. With advanced training in taxation, he is able to help his clients organize, manage and reorganize their businesses to adapt to the changing business climate and to structure transactions in a tax-advantageous manner. Umbach also advises on lending transactions, representing borrowers in connection with establishing and refinancing credit facilities, and lenders in connection with complex, unconventional transactions. His clients range in size from individuals navigating local markets to Fortune 100 companies with more than $1 billion in annual revenue, and he currently serves as outside general counsel for a leading manufacturer with locations in four U.S. states, China and India, as well as other companies in the manufacturing, fitness amenities and appraisal services industries.
