The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act was designed to combat the economic and health crisis brought about by the coronavirus pandemic. It offers forgivable loans to small businesses that maintain payroll, provides direct payments to individuals and families, institutes economic relief for distressed industries and extends significant financial support for hospitals and medical institutions. This legislation will have a substantial impact on Jefferson Parish businesses.
