The law firm of Adams and Reese is pleased to announce that Partner James B. McLaren, Jr. has been named a Memphis Business Journal 2016 “Best of the Bar” finalist and honoree. McLaren is a partner in the firm’s Memphis, Tennessee office and serves as a practice group leader for the firm’s Transactions and Corporate Advisory Services Practice Team. McLaren will be honored alongside 23 finalists at the publication’s inaugural “Best of the Bar” Awards on Thursday, April 28th at Opera Memphis.
The inaugural MBJ “Best of the Bar” Awards recognize the top legal minds in Memphis and the Mid-South. Finalists were selected from nominees based on legal excellence in service to their firm, organization or company; service to their profession; and community involvement. Finalists were chosen in categories including Private Firm-Large, Private Firm-Medium, Private Firm-Small, Ace Associate, In-House Counsel and Public Service.
McLaren joined Adams and Reese in 2006 and helped form the Memphis office. He is a former practice group leader of the firm’s Economic Development Practice Team, a practice area he helped establish. In his practice, he provides transactional counsel primarily for economic development, public finance, real estate development, commercial lending and mergers and acquisitions.
