Adams and Reese partner Lucian Pera was recognized among Memphis business litigation leaders by Inside Memphis Business as he was named to the publication’s 2018 class of "Power Players in Law."

The honor marks the ninth-consecutive year Pera earned the distinction as he has been listed among Power Players in business litigation since 2010. According to Inside Memphis Business, the criteria for the award includes being a top local lawyer when going to trial and arguing before a judge, being an attorney who best knows when to settle and when to maintain open dialogue in negotiations, and being a legal professional who can help make tough decisions that are in a client’s best interest.

Pera, who currently serves as president of the Tennessee Bar Association, joined Adams and Reese in 2006. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, media law and legal ethics work. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America by Best Lawyers® (by BL Rankings, LLC), America’s Leading Business Lawyers by Chambers USA® and Mid-South Super Lawyers® (by Thomson Reuters) for his work in business litigation. Recognized in Who’s Who in American Law each year since 1992, Pera earned the Justice Joseph W. Henry Award for outstanding legal writing in 1992, the Sam A. Myar, Jr., Memorial Award from the Memphis Bar Association in 1997 and the President’s Award from the Tennessee Bar Association in 2000 and 2003.

Active in the legal community outside of the firm, Pera served as the treasurer of the American Bar Association from 2011-14, and he is a member of the ABA Board of Governors, Executive Committee, House of Delegates and Task Force on the Financing of Legal Education. He also a fellow of the Memphis Bar Foundation, American Law Institute, Tennessee Bar Foundation and College of Law Practice Management, and is a past president of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers.
