Roy Hadley to Present at International Municipal Lawyers Association Conference in Houston

October 12, 2018

What has the City of Atlanta learned following a cyberattack earlier this year? Roy Hadley will share insights and best practices for incident response and preparation/prevention as he presents "Local Governments Held for Ransom: Lessons Learned from the Atlanta Cyber Attack" with Rhonda Collins and moderator Sharae Reed at the International Municipal Lawyers Association's (IMLA) 83rd Annual Conference, October 17–21 in Houston, Texas.

Roy will share his own experiences from the March 2018 attack that held Atlanta for ransom, preventing it from using certain critical databases like those for the judicial system and first responders until the City agreed to pay the hackers to unlock the City’s systems. These types of attacks demonstrate that local governments are vulnerable to cyber threats.
