Adams and Reese Partner Brian Smithweck has been elected Assistant Treasurer on the Mobile Bar Association Executive Committee. He will assume office January 1, 2023.

Founded in 1869, the Mobile Bar Association is one of the oldest bar associations in the United States, the oldest in the State of Alabama, and supports more than 1,000 members in their area of practice, promoting justice and public service.

Adams and Reese continues its representation on the executive committee as Adams and Reese Special Counsel Suntrease Williams-Maynard served the last two years for the Mobile Bar as Assistant Treasurer and Treasurer. Smithweck will follow the same volunteer track.

At Adams and Reese, Smithweck practices in the areas of corporate, partnership and limited liability company planning, estate planning, probate, trusts and estates, mergers and acquisitions, tax planning and tax controversies.

Smithweck is a member of the board of the Estate Planning Council of Mobile, Inc. and is a frequent speaker on the topics of estate planning, business planning, family businesses and corporate, partnership and limited liability company issues. He is a member of the tax sections within the Alabama, Florida, and Georgia state bar associations.
