Transactions and energy law attorney Walter J. Dunn has joined the law firm of Adams and Reese as Partner in the firm’s Memphis office. Dunn was formerly a Partner for Holland & Knight in New York, and McGuireWoods, in Richmond, Virginia.

Dunn is licensed to practice in Tennessee, New York and Virginia.

Practicing law since 2000, Dunn has worked on corporate commercial transactions, and has extensive experience with energy transactional matters, representing large investor owned utilities and independent power producers. His focus has been the representation of developers and operators of electric generation facilities, conventional and alternative, and midstream gas facilities, both domestically and internationally.

He assists clients in the negotiation and drafting of contracts for engineering, procurement and construction of large-scale construction projects, including coal-fired power plants and supporting facilities, gas fired plants, ocean-side terminals, storage facilities, nuclear power plants, luxury hotels, office buildings and public use space domestically and internationally.

Prior to practicing law, Dunn was a marketing analyst and professional representative at Merck & Co., and was also a pharmaceutical sales representative for Bayer Corp.

Dunn earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2000, and he received his M.B.A. in 1995 and his B.S. in 1989, both from Arkansas State University.
