Adams and Reese Partner Tim Volpe, in the firm’s Jacksonville office, has been appointed by Florida Gov. Rick Scott to the 1st District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission as part of the Governor’s 27 appointments across the state to judicial nominating commissions in Florida. The 1st District encompasses most of North Florida from Jacksonville to the Panhandle.
“I am very honored to receive the judicial nominating appointment by our Governor Rick Scott,” Volpe said. “I look forward to working with the other commissioners to recommend great candidates as judges for the First District Court of Appeal to the Governor.”
All appointments will run until July 2018.
Judicial nominating commissions recommend candidates for judgeships to the governor. Under Florida law, Scott must make his judicial appointments out of the list of names submitted to him by the nominating commissions.

He frequently represents clients in the insurance industry, including acting as outside general counsel to several companies. His representative experience includes commercial litigation, bankruptcy matters, commercial arbitrations, insurance litigation, non-litigation insurance experience, and including the formation, reorganization, purchase and sale of insurance companies and agencies.
