Adams and Reese Partners Kristina Montanaro Schrader and Maia Woodhouse have been selected among the 2022 “Rising Stars” by Managing IP, which since 2018 has recognized the best up-and-coming intellectual property practitioners in private practice who have contributed to the success of their firms and clients.

Managing IP’s research involves analyzing firm submissions, practitioner surveys, client feedback, and public information. This year’s “Rising Stars” honorees are from 50 jurisdictions across the globe.

Schrader serves as the Adams and Reese Anti-Counterfeiting Team Leader, crafting modern brand and content protection strategies through her IP practice for a wide range of multinational businesses and protecting celebrity clients from reputational damage caused by online imposters, fake endorsements, and other deceptive marketing scams. She previously served as an executive at the International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition (IACC) and worked in-house at Gucci America and Dolce & Gabbana USA. She is a frequent speaker on IP enforcement, payment processing, and the growing incidence of infringement on the dark web. She has directed public awareness campaigns for consumers and conducted training sessions for law enforcement, the financial industry, and online marketplace personnel.

Woodhouse is a first-chair intellectual property litigator, earning the trust of well-known global brands by taking calculated risks backed by exhaustive discovery to upend the cases of opposition. Woodhouse’s career has focused on global IP litigation and enforcement. Her strengths lie in deep investigations, uncovering shadowy parties involved in infringement and counterfeiting, finding turnkey arguments to compel opponents to the negotiating table, and taking high-stakes cases to trial. An experienced trademark litigator, Woodhouse has particular proficiency in prosecuting and defending against motions for temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions in “bet-the-company” IP disputes. Woodhouse has been published in multiple media outlets, including Intellectual Asset Management and IP Watchdog, and is a frequent speaker on protecting, managing, and monetizing intellectual property assets.
