Adams and Reese is pleased to announce the addition of Chelsea J. Lu as an associate and a member of the litigation practice team in the firm’s Houston office.
A member of the Texas Bar since November 2016, Lu’s previous experience includes sitting first chair in a criminal trial, drafting in limine and summary judgement motions, discovery and class action complaints, and negotiating with opposing counsel and participating in mediation.
Prior to joining Adams and Reese, Lu was an associate in private law practice in Houston where her primary focus was products liability and mass tort litigation. She also interned with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and clerked with a criminal defense firm.
Lu completed her B.A. in philosophy from Texas A&M University in 2013 and graduated cum laude with a J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 2016. While in law school, she was a varsity moot court advocate – winning several awards around the country – and an assistant editor of the South Texas Law Review.
She also served as a Langdell tutor to first-year students and research assistants, and was an officer on the Board of Advocates. She was a Dean’s Scholar, received the HBA Litigation Section Scholarship, Association of Corporate Counsel Diversity Scholarship and Federal Bar Association Blask Fellowship, and was invited to join the Order of Barristers following graduation.
As an undergraduate, Lu served as Vice Chief Justice of the Student Government Association, President of the Pre-Law Society, and the Founder/President of the Aggie Big Brothers Big Sisters from 2011-13.
Active in the community, Lu has volunteered with Voices for Children, Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) of the Brazos Valley, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Brazos Valley and the Boys and Girls Club of America.
