David Wolf was presented with the 2018 Jefferson Parish Economic Development Commission (JEDCO) Chairman’s Champion Award at the organization’s annual luncheon in December. Jimmy Baum, JEDCO’s 2018 Chairman of the Board, presented David the award in recognition of his work with JEDCO on several notable and impactful economic development projects in the parish in 2018.

David provided guidance to create a payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) for Avondale Marine, the joint venture that acquired the former Avondale Shipyards site in Jefferson Parish, which will create more than 2,000 jobs. The PILOT agreement David worked on was essential to finalizing the acquisition.

David also offered direction on efforts that retained US Foods and attracted 40 new jobs, and supported Ochsner Health System's beautification efforts along the Jefferson Highway Healthcare Corridor.

Further, David delivered counsel in JEDCO's issuance of taxable revenue bonds to finance the construction of the Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy, a high-performing type 1 charter school in Kenner. The new facility will be able to serve 2,000 students from Pre-K to 12th grade.
