Managing Partner Gif Thornton Named “Best of the Bar” 2018

Adams and Reese managing partner Gif Thornton was selected as one of the top legal minds in Middle Tennessee in government relations by the Nashville Business Journal among the “Best of the Bar” honorees.

This year marks the sixth-consecutive year that Thornton has been named among the most-talented and most-respected legal professionals from across the state as one of the 80 honorees in 18 practice areas. This June, the “Best of the Bar” honorees will be featured in a special print publication and celebrated at a “Best of the Bar” cocktail reception.

Thornton is well-known throughout the state in the political and government relations arenas. He has served as legislative counsel to a number of businesses, trade associations and governmental entities with interests before Tennessee state government. In addition, he has represented clients before regulatory boards and administrative agencies of local, state and federal government. He has extensive experience in the areas of education, energy, health care, insurance, technology, transportation and utilities.

Thornton is well-recognized for his legal accomplishments, having been named as the highest ranked lawyer/lobbyist on the Power 100 list of influential people in Tennessee, compiled annually by Business TN®, as a Best Lawyers® "Lawyer of the Year” (by BL Rankings, LLC) in 2014 for government relations, and consecutively since 2010 among the Top Lawyers “In Charge” by the Nashville Post.
