Adams and Reese Partner Courtney Miller, in the firm’s New Orleans office, has joined The Cornerstone Council, a forum created by the Greater New Orleans Foundation to network knowledge, perceptions and input from experts in the field of estate and financial planning in order to be most effective in serving professional advisors, their clients and existing donors.

By becoming a member the goal is to establish, develop and maintain strong working relationships with members of the Greater New Orleans’ professional advisor community, including  accountants, financial planners and advisors, lawyers, and investment managers.

At Adams and Reese, Miller is a member of the Tax practice area team, practicing estate and gift planning and succession law, and providing counsel in corporate, matrimonial and charitable transactions.

She is also experienced with the preparation of estate and gift tax returns.  In the estate planning arena, Miller prepares wills, powers of attorney, and various types of trusts.  Miller's experience is further exhibited through an integrated analysis of the client’s current assets, cash flow and tax liability, then development and implementation of strategies to most effectively and efficiently transfer wealth and reduce estate taxes. In her practice, Miller also focuses on charitable planning and prepares “Special Needs Trusts” for individuals with disabilities fearing loss of government benefits.

She is a member of the New Orleans Estate Planning Council and Association of Women Attorneys. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Xplore Federal Credit Union.
